Dave, the gays are fighting hard now cause they feel their cause is almost won on a permanent legal basis. I see no hope to turn this movement back. God help us as we enter into this perverse culture. We are being persecuted at every turn. I hope Jesus comes quickly. I don’t say: “All you people are so full of it: shut up.” Ok, not all gays go in for the feme, exhibitionist, S&M, gay pride parades. So we poke at extremes. (Draw Obama’s ears huge. Draw Newt super fat. Draw believers as Bible-banging kooks). I know most gays are just folks of all stripes. (tho the mod media loves to draw them as cool & hot.)
You’re right. Govts should do the right thing & make laws best for all. We pray they learn what that is! But if opinion goes 70% for SameSexMarriage, you’ll argue for good ol’ democratic majority rule. But if the people are 70% anti-SSM, you argue for minority rule. Sure there are rights all minorities should have. But also demands that just go too far!
BTW, most folks, especially blacks, don’t buy into their fight for civil rights & your fight for sexual rights being equivalent.
But isn’t this the BIG Q behind all this legal & cultural conflict?- If gay is good: then there should be nothing on earth to hinder it’s TOTAL expression. If gay is wrong (unhealthy, unwise, unholy?): then redefining marriage will crumble every societal pillar on earth! If gay is grey: then we slog on & slug it out..
All things are already changing because of the rise of gay culture. But legislating/cementing samesex wedlock will pour gasoline on that fire & end all debate forever. Business- I’m not sure why hiring, firing, promotions, benefits, restrooms, or legal budgets would be affected in the slightest though even if they were would that not have been the same for interracial marriage. Lawyers- Those cases are either arguments against all marriage, not even relating to marriage at all, or already happening. And even if there are an increase of court cases law is an industry and the more cases in courts, the more lawyers are needed and the more firms will hire increasing jobs and cash flow
Schools- Gay marriage doesn’t change anything in schools. Future legislation might but that’s not what were talking about.
Family and children- Gay child rearing couples already exist. Gay marriage will simply give them a slip of paper and a few other benefits. This argument holds no inherency.
Really this entire rainbow-stained apocalyptic prophecy has zero inherency. Many places already have gay marriage and someone how they haven’t experienced this significant backlash.
