    What a stupid, hateful, and insulting cartoon, ‘using’ God’s name to spread vitriol. Homosexuals are BORN this way you morons. It’s not ‘unnatural lust’. They have every right to marry, with all accompanying rights. By the way, for the record, I am heterosexual, and happily married with a young daughter. I just abhor myopic right wing hatemongers like yourselves who are setting us back in time, and making this world a worse place for my daughter.

    Dear John-
    Thanks for responding, for your strong opinions & for being a good dad.

    My reason for doing cartoons is not to insult, but to poke fun & stimulate talk. Agreed, this toon is very confrontional & I admit it’s pretty disrespectful, but of those who are living a disrespectful lifstyle. And I wanted to talk about it. I’m sorry if at times my satire becomes too destructive for constructive debate. But shouldn’t we all be able to take & give a few jabs? (Isn’t labeling us all “morons” kind of like, um…hate speech?)

    I hope you’ll teach your daughter, like I’ve taught my 5 kids, to respect others, honor people’s choices & to have a sense of humor; but also to stand up & speak up when they see wrong or see lives caught in destuctive choices. In their lives our kids will see many bigoted, heartless, mindless, fake-christian, right & left wing wackos belching out hate. I pray they won’t grow up like that, but will find God & with Him, make this world a better place.
    Some questions…
    Q: Is same-sex desire sacrosanct? Off-limits? Can’t poke fun at the nice gay folks?
    Is it like their sacred destiny–& no man must ever question?! In what universe is that called love or freedom? So sexual need, like skin color, is pre-programed?

    Q: Was your daughter born hetero? What if someday men treat her badly & she runs to women for comfort & discovers she likes it! Was she now born to be gay?
    Q: What if she then meets a boy who’s sweet to her & she falls in love & they marry & live happily ever after? Was she now born to be straight?

    We can’t lock people into their moral prisons…or we’re all doomed! If it’s all genetic, then the alcholic, the cleptomaniac, the child-molester, the drug addict, the hateful liberal or conservative were just born to be that way! Drag.

    So I will defend to the death our freedom to make choices! But also defend the freedom to challenge & change those choices! It’s called democracy…& ministry.

    You say I’m taking us back in time? What?-back to a time when society knew that some acts were immoral? Or how about into the future, when we will all meet God in eternity? You, me, our kids, gays, straights- What choices will be proud of then?

    I love gays & I might even die (not just draw inflamatory cartoons)for my misguided bros & sisters. But actually I don’t have to. Someone Else already has.

    John’s own God given conscience betrays him. In the same breath he proclaims (without proof) homosexuals are “born that way” he states “I am heterosexual, and happily married with a young daughter.” Men having sex with men is something you don’t want people to think you are engaged in, is it John? The truth is homosexual behavior is something that can be overcome. And true love doesn’t let someone continue in any sin or harmful behavior. No matter what the political winds may be at the moment.
